Security Engineer
Location: San Francisco Bay Area, CA
Help us improve the security of a next-generation cloud computing product. Develop security-centric systems for interesting complex infrastructure at a cool startup full of smart people. This engineer is involved in designing and prototyping large scale infrastructure security solutions.
Responsibilities
Participate in assorted projects related to system security, automated system policy deployment, system and network monitoring, and hardening interesting infrastructures built with open source components.
Requirements
- 3+ years experience in Python and/or C.
- BS in computer science or networking systems, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with Linux virtualization technology (Xen and/or KVM).
- Linux system security experience.
- Centralized logging best practices.
- Strong understanding of how to use TLS/SSL.
- Experience using Linux change management systems.
- Experience using and/or implementing cryptographic authentication systems.
- Experience configuring hardened systems in a security-oriented environment.
- Linux Kernel Security experience (SELinux, AppArmor and/or Grsecurity).
- Insatiable desire to learn.
Bonuses
- Comfortable in cloud environments (OpenStack, AWS, etc).
- Experience working with open source development and communities.
- Experience using Open Source projects and common repositories.
- Familiarity with Chef or Puppet.
- Strong understanding of Ethernet and IP routing.
- Fluent working with SELinux.
- Experience writing software that interacts directly with hardware (OS, hypervisor and/or device drivers).
- One or more past startups.
